BioCision, LLC, today announced they will host a panel discussion at Phacilitate’s Cell and Gene Therapy World 2016 conference in Washington, DC. The company has assembled a panel of leading cell therapy product development experts to discuss the challenges the industry faces in ensuring standardized and reproducible manufacturing, transportation and handling of sensitive cell-based therapeutics through the “last mile,” or point of care. The session, “Problems Inherent to the ‘Last Mile’ in Cell Therapy,” will be led by BioCision Senior Vice President of Research and Development, Eric Kunkel, PhD.

Kunkel joined BioCision in June 2014 and leads the R&D team that developed the company’s award-winning ThawSTAR® automated cell thawing technology, which has been rapidly adopted by cell therapy companies as a method of standardizing the thawing of cryopreserved therapeutics.
