PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Barry F. Levin has become Managing Partner of Saul Ewing LLP, serving as the Firm's Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Mr. Levin will guide the Firm's strategic focus, growth and operations, as well as seek to enhance business development and direct activities through its 11 offices in the Northeast. Mr. Levin assumes the Managing Partner role after having chaired the Firm's Business and Finance Department for the past three years. Under his leadership, Saul Ewing's Business and Finance Department grew by 17% and strengthened industry-focused practices in private equity, life sciences, intellectual property and other business related practices.

Mr. Levin served on Saul Ewing's Executive Committee, which functions as the Firm's managing body and directs long-term strategic planning, for six years prior to being considered for the Managing Partner role. He has been an attorney with Saul Ewing since 2003.

Mr. Levin is a seasoned business lawyer who provides counsel to clients involved in mergers and acquisitions, complex financing, franchising, licensing and general corporate matters. Mr. Levin represents clients in a wide variety of industries, including health care providers, government contractors, construction companies, large retailers, intellectual property companies and real estate related businesses. In addition, Mr. Levin advises individuals in complex estate and trust planning and administration.

Long an active participant in the Baltimore business community, Mr. Levin currently serves as Chair the Audit and Compliance Committee of LifeBridge Health, Inc.; is a director of Sinai Hospital and is an Advisory Board member for St. Joseph's University Initiative for Family Business and Entrepreneurship.

Mr. Levin graduated from Franklin & Marshall College and received his J.D., cum laude, from The University of Baltimore School of Law. He resides in Baltimore, Maryland, with his wife and two sons.
