Congratulations and a big thank you goes to the Marine Engineer Apprenticeship Employer Group, supported by British Marine, for their hard work in developing the new standard that will replace the older apprenticeship framework pathway.

The Marine Engineer Standard and associated End Point Assessment Plan have been published for a while now, and finally (after a long funding band appeal by the employer group with the powers that be at the Department for Education) a level 15 funding band (maximum £27,000) has been allocated to the apprenticeship. Information about the apprenticeship standard can be found on theBritish Marine website.

Employers involved in creating the standard: Berthon Boat Company (chair), Broom Boats, English Harbour Yachts, Fairline Boats, Golden Arrow, Goodchild Marine, Green Marine, Hamble Yacht Services, RNLI, Pendennis Shipyard, Princess Yachts, Pioneer Sailing Trust, Sunseeker International, Windboats

Any British Marine members which would like to receive more information about the apprenticeship reforms or which you have any questions about apprenticeships, please contact Chris Holmes at cholmes@britishmarine.co.uk
