The annual Treffert Lecture Series will present 'Hyperlexia & Einstein Syndrome: A Closer Look,' from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, March 26 at the Holiday Inn, 625 W. Rolling Meadows Drive, Fond du Lac.

Darold Treffert, MD, a world-renowned autism and savant syndrome expert, will serve as a keynote speaker, followed by Phyllis Kupperman, MA, CCC-SLP, founder of the Center for Speech & Language Disorders, who has written extensively on hyperlexia and serves as an advocate for the development of effective treatments for children with a variety of speech and language disorders.

The presentation will feature hints, tips and pearls for parents, teachers and therapists. A panel discussion will feature the following experts:

  • Matt Doll, PhD, psychology, autism evaluation & diagnosis services
  • Beth Dardis, SLP, speech language pathologist
  • Karen Bartelt, OTR, registered occupational therapist

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with coffee and refreshments. Presentations will begin at 9:30 a.m. Lunch is included. Cost is $75 per person; $120 for professional CME credits.

A wine and cheese reception will follow from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Treffert Center, 371 E. First Street, Fond du Lac. Visit personally with Dr. Treffert and Kupperman Open to conference guests and by special invitation; $20 suggested donation.
