Aeroport Tolmachevo : Novosibirsk Airport has Handled Record Number of Passengers

December 21, 2016, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport handled the four millionth passenger for the first time in its history.

That was a Novosibirsk resident Anna Shaidurova, who was travelling to Moscow on the Flight 184 of S7 Airlines.

General Director of Airport Tolmachevo JSCEvgeniy Yankilevich and general representative of S7 Airlines in Central Asia and Tolmachevo airport Evgeniy Chernyshev congratulated the milestone passenger.

The airline upgraded class of service for the passenger on the flight to business class and presented a free flight in any direction of its route network. NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport presented Anna Shaidurova with a certificate for service in VIP-lounge and souvenirs.

Passengers travelling on morning flights departing from Section A joined the festive event and viewed the performance of a musical group. A partner of the airport, a network of coffee houses Chashka Coffee cooked a festive cake for passengers.

At the year-end 2016 Tolmachevo airport is planning to handle more than 4 million passengers. This figure is an absolute record in the history of the Novosibirsk airport. It's worth recalling that in 2011 passenger traffic reached 2.7 million of handled passengers and broke the record of 1991, the peak year in terms of passenger traffic for the airport. The first three millionth passenger since the beginning of the year Tolmachevo airport handled in 2012.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity - up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
