SAGUENAY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Jan 27, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced a contribution of $11,700 to the 31st Saguenay en Neige festival, which will take place between February 5 and February 15 in Saguenay, in the Jonquière borough.

This funding, provided through the Local Festivals component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, contributes to artistic and cultural activities presented during this popular winter festival.

  • Saguenay en Neige can count on the participation of 200 volunteers and welcomes nearly 100, 000 visitors each year.
  • Since 1985, Saguenay en Neige offers festival-goers a gigantic temporary art gallery of ice sculptures and a great number of winter activities.
  • Almost 1, 000 sculptors from across Quebec and abroad meet each year to create 250 sculptures in the Sculpture City on the festival site, in the Rivière-aux-Sables park.
  • The activities also include concerts and children shows, as well as on site animation.
