Before joining Mitsui & Co. Technology Investment Group, Mr. Takeda pioneered the penetration of the digital signage market in the U.S.
and Europe and began to focus on converging IT and Media, as well as hardware and services, to search for new business opportunities in the New Media markets.
From 1998 to 2002, he served as manager of New Business Planning at Mitsui Comtek Corp.
in Silicon Valley, where he marketed Lithium Ion rechargeable battery equipment for a Japanese company that was seeking new business expansion in the U.S.
market.
He has also worked with various display technology start-ups in the U.S.
and provided introductions to strategic partners in the Asian market.
Previously, he successfully led Sanyo Electric in achieving record sales of $400 Million for LCD displays with the PC giants Compaq, Texas Instruments, IBM, AST, Apple and HP over a six-year period, by setting up the JIT logistics and Product Quality Control systems.
Having lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and San Jose and having spent a total of 15 years in the U.S., Mr. Takeda is fluent in English and well familiar with U.S.
culture.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.
