Wim van de Kraats

Mr. Wim van de Kraats is a Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at AEGON Investment Management BV.
He is responsible for raising and maintaining the global standard of risk management and compliance within the three lines of defense model.
He oversees portfolio risk management, enterprise risk management and compliance as well as having accountability for risk oversight of two joint ventures, Aegon Industrial Fund Management Company (AIFMC) and La Banque Postale Asset Management (LBPAM).
He has been with Aegon for 19 years and has held a number of senior positions.
He was also a non-executive director and member of the Supervisory Board of Aegon Bank, while previous roles included senior vice president, head of operational and model risk management and senior vice president, head of risk governance and model validation at Aegon NV.
Prior to that, Mr. van de Kraats spent time at Rabobank and PWC.
He has been in the industry since 2000 and started with the firm and its affiliates in 2004.
He received his postgraduate in accounting and his master’s in economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
