Dr. William R.
Hendee is an Advisor at Mi3 Venture Partners Management LLC.
Since 1995 he has served as Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
He joined the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1991 as Senior Associate Dean and Vice President.
His faculty appointments are Professor and Vice Chair of radiology with professorships in biophysics, radiation oncology and bioethics.
Dr. Hendee received his doctorate in physics from the University of Texas.
After serving as Assistant and Associate Professor and Chairman of Physics and Astronomy at Millsaps College, he joined the faculty of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center where he was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiology from 1977-85.
In 1985 he joined the staff of the American Medical Association as Vice President for Science and Technology.
Dr. Hendee has been a Director of the American Board of Health Physics and President of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
He is currently a Director and Secretary/Treasurer of the American Board of Radiology, President of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, and Co-President of the World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering.
He has authored or co-authored over 350 scientific articles and more than 20 books.
His research interests are in diagnostic imaging, with an emphasis on visual perception and cognition and on technology assessment in medicine.
He serves as a Director of TechStar, a management services and investment organization formed to support early stage technology companies in Wisconsin.
TechStar was formed in collaboration with leading academic institutions in Wisconsin, including the Medical College of Wisconsin, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, Marquette University, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
