Dr. Thilo Klein is an Advanced Researcher at Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH.
He is professor for quantitative economics at Pforzheim University and an economist in ZEW’s Research Department “Market Design” where he is responsible for its research area “Design of Matching Markets”.
His research combines assignment algorithms and statistical methods with the goal of examining how markets can be improved by actively shaping market rules and institutions.
He has extensive professional experience in economic consulting for both public and private sector development.
Prior to joining ZEW, he worked as an economist and policy analyst at the OECD, as well as for the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Indian microfinance institution Spandana, and Bayer AG.
He lectured in econometrics and game theory at University of Cambridge, UK.
He holds a PhD in business economics and an MPhil in operations research from the University of Cambridge, UK.
