Roliff Purrington

Mr. Purrington is a Principal with The Purrington Group, LLC , a Texas-based firm, whose focus includes private equity investment in the purchase and responsible remediation, resale and redevelopment of environmentally-impaired properties or “brownfields” and other business ventures that enhance natural resources and the environment.
The Purrington Group works with Cherokee on various relationship development and investment origination initiatives and property remediation and development issues.
The Purrington Group focuses primarily on the Southwestern United States, though the Group is also active elsewhere in North America and Western Europe.
Mr. Purrington has over 25 years of experience working on real estate, land use and environmentally-sensitive development projects, both as a lawyer and financial advisor.
Mr. Purrington has worked with buyers and sellers in connection with acquisitions and mergers involving such assets and has experience with transaction due diligence, definitive agreement negotiations, regulatory approvals, legislative initiatives and contested matters in multiple forums and jurisdictions in Texas and elsewhere.
Previously, Mr. Purrington practiced law with Hunton and Williams in Richmond, Virginia, from 1977 to 1982 and subsequently was a Partner at Mayor, Day, Caldwell and Keeton in Houston and Austin for sixteen years, handling chiefly environmental, natural resource, land use and related regulatory matters.
Mr. Purrington earned a BA with honors from Yale University, a JD from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
