The company is based in Daytona Beach, FL. In addition to hosting at least nine major event weekends, the speedway grounds are also used extensively for events such as concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing, and police motorcycle training. Daytona International Speedway is the home of the Great American Race - the Daytona 500, and has won the SportsBusiness Journal's prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. The speedway also hosts other exciting racing events such as the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Daytona SuperCross, and the Daytona 200, as well as other events like concerts and sporting events. The company was founded in 1953 by William Carter France.
