Brown Advisory LLC is a SEC-registered investment advisor headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. The firm is a subsidiary of Brown Advisory Management LLC and their ultimate parent is Brown Advisory, Inc. The firm was founded and launched in 1993 as an investment management division of Alex. Brown & Sons, a Baltimore-based investment bank founded in 1800. In 1998, they became independently owned through an employee-led buyout. Brown Advisory provides investment management services to individuals and institutions.
