Gwalior Chemicals Industries Limited ('Parent Company' or 'the Company'), a public limited company together with its subsidiaries (herein after collectively referred to as the 'Group') operates as an integrated international chemical organization with the business comprising production & distribution of Chemicals. Over the last two decades, they have built a formidable presence in the specialty chemical industry and have extensively catered to the needs of their customers covering the agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes and flavors & fragrance industries. They are one of the largest Indian producers of Chlorotoluene range of products. Within this range, they produce and sell Benzyl Chloride, Benzaldeyhde, Benzotrichloride, Benzyl Alcohol and its other derivatives. They are also one of the leading global producers of Sulphur Chloride range of products. Within this range, they produce and sell Thionyl Chloride and Sulphuryl Chloride. They also manufacture and sell special Viscose Dye Pigments catering to the textile sector. All products manufactured by them confirm to the highest international standards of quality The Company operates in the Benzyl and Sulphur Chloride segment of the chemicals marketplace. Global recessionary trends, and increased competition and growing capacities have limited the growth opportunities in the Benzyl and Sulphur Chlorides businesses. Some of the benzyl products largely feed on European and American market demand, which is currently sluggish and expected to remain so. The domestic Sulphur Chloride business is facing stiff competition from other domestic and global producers. The group presently has manufacturing facilities in India. The Groups major markets include United States of America, India, Japan, Korea & Europe. Europe is the largest market and the major products are Chloro - Toluene products. Currently they operate seven large chemical plants spanning over two chemical facilities located at Nagda (Madhya Pradesh) and Ankleshwar (Gujarat) in India.
