Prior to joining Batteryin 2006, Mr. Penangwala was Director of Sales and Business Development at Switchcore Corporation, a gigabit ethernet startup.
In this role, he secured deals with a number of major players including: Huawei, ECI Telecom, Dasan/Siemens, and Aruba Networks, accounting for 60% of revenue.
He also created and managed a diverse team of highly productive sales reps in Japan, Korea, Israel, China/Taiwan and the US.
Earlier, Rahim was at Sun Microsystems, where he worked on the design and product marketing of UltraSparc and Java processors.
He helped with business plan development and sales activities, and was involved in a unique IP licensing model for customers such as LGE, Samsung, and Bosch.
Rahim also worked at Lehman Brothers, conducting equity research for clients and analyzing financial products.
Mr. Penangwala has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Business, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering with the highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
