Dr. Oliver Fritz is a Senior Economist at Österreichisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung.
He has been working in the Research Group "Structural Change and Regional Development" since 2001.
He is also working as a lecturer at the University of Vienna and the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland and is an Affiliate Professor at the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (USA).
Since 2009 Dr. Oliver Fritz has been serving as Executive Secretary of the International Input-Output Association, a globally operating scientific organization located in Vienna.
His current fields of research and policy consulting include tourism economics, regional economics, as well as input-output, and Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modeling.
Before joining WIFO in 2001, he worked at the Institute of Technology and Regional Policy of Joanneum Research and at the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
He received a Master's degree in Economics from the University in Graz, and both a Master's and doctoral degree in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
