IKB Invest GmbH (IKB-PE) is the private equity arm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG (FR: IKB). The bank's activities include domestic corporate lending, real estate finance, structured finance, private equity, treasury and financial markets. KfW holds a significant minority interest in the IKB group, and both banks have established a strategic partnership. Another significant shareholder is Stiftung Industrieforschung, a foundation established in 1974 following the merger between IKB-Industriekreditbank and Deutsche Industriebank, for the purpose of promoting commercial enterprise. Established in 1987, IKB-PE is headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany.

IKB Equity Finance GmbH (IKB-EF) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of IKB Private Equity GmbH which is part of the private equity arm and in turn a wholly-owned subsidiary of IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG (FR: IKB). IKB-EF was established in 2007 when the bank's private equity arm was reorganized. The firm focuses on direct equity investments while IKB Private Equity GmbH specializes in mezzanine financing.
