Michael B. Murphey

From 1990 to 2006, Mr. Murphey was CFO, Financial Officer and Assistant to the Executive Director of the Woman's Missionary Union, an auxiliary of the Southern Baptist Convention founded in 1888 that seeks to equip adults, youth, children and preschoolers with missions-related education.
From 1978 to 1989, Mr. Murphey was Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Corporate Controller and Manager of Corporate Accounting for Southern Progress Corporation, one of the largest lifestyle publishers in the country, publishing Southern Living, Cooking Light, Health, and The Progressive Farmer.
From 1972 to 1978, Mr. Murphey worked as an accountant with Ernst & Young.
Mr. Murphey received his MBA from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1987 and a BS with Special Honors in Accounting from Jacksonville State University in 1972.
Mr. Murphey is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants.
