Luis Barroso

Bank of Portugal (Research) is the investment research division of Bank of Portugal, the central bank of the Portuguese Republic which was established by Royal Charter on 19 November 1846 as a bank of issue and commercial bank. Headquartered in Lisbon, the firm’s research projects cover multiple areas, with particular emphasis on monetary economics, international economics, labor, growth and business cycles, banking and regulation, financial economics, fiscal policy, and econometric modeling. The strong complementarity between keeping up with economic developments on a regular basis and the development of theoretical and empirical research projects allows for a more comprehensive vision of relevant questions for Banco de Portugal.
