Headquartered in Taipei, the firm was founded in 1992 as Taiwan Securities Investment Trust Co., Ltd., the predecessor of Xinguang Investment Trust. They were renamed Xinguang Investment Trust Co., Ltd. in 2001 and joined Shin Kong Financial Holdings and merged with Xinxin Investment in 2006. SKIT offers mutual funds, private placement funds, discretionary trust and offshore funds for individual and institutional investors.

First Securities Investment Trust Co. Ltd. (FSIT) is the wholly-owned mutual fund management subsidiary of First Financial Holding Co. (ADR: FFHOY, TP: 2892) in Taiwan. Formerly known as National Investment Trust Co. Ltd., established in 1986, the firm changed their name to First Securities Investment Trust Co. Ltd. in 2008 when they became a subsidiary of First Financial Holding Co. FSIT is based in Taipei and offers a range of proprietary funds and delivers investment advisory solutions to high-net worth clients.
