Lauren Apter

Before moving to Dallas, Dr. Apter was a Harrington Doctoral Fellow in the Department of History at the University of Texas at Austin.
Her studies included the fields of Jewish History, British Empire, and the Modern Middle East, as well as Hebrew Language and Literature.
Her dissertation is an examination of the last decades of British rule in Palestine, leading to the establishment of Israel.
She earned her Ph.D.
in 2008.
Dr. Apter graduated with a B.A.
from the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas with special honors in Middle Eastern Studies in 1996.
She then enjoyed a brief career in museums, including the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, and Spertus Museum in Chicago.
In 2000, she completed an M.A.
at the University of Chicago, focusing on Holocaust remembrance in the United States.
