Mr. Joe M.
Petri is Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Tandem Global Partners LLC.
Prior to co-founding Tandem in January 2008, Mr. Petri was Head of Global Markets for the Americas at HSBC where he managed the bank's $30 billion investment portfolio and was responsible for all investment activity and balance sheet management in North and South America.
His responsibilities also included managing all sales and trading including foreign exchange, fixed income, commodities and all derivatives.
During his 6 1/2 years at HSBC, he built numerous businesses and hired well over 600 people.
Mr. Petri started and managed Summit Capital, a macro hedge fund that he ran from 1995 to 1998.
Mr. Petri began his finance career at Merrill Lynch in 1982 as a government bond trader.
In 1988, he was made President of Merrill Lynch Government Securities and Global Foreign Exchange, responsible for trading of government securities, FX and repo.
From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Petri managed Merrill's global institutional sales force for both equity and debt.
While at Merrill, he served on the firm's Risk Management Committee and was also a member on the Federal Reserve Bank's Foreign Exchange Advisory Committee.
Mr. Petri was also a litigation attorney at Bigham, Englar, Jones and Houston from 1979 to 1981.
Mr. Petri has a J.D.
from Fordham University School of Law and a B.A.
from Holy Cross College.
