CGD Pensões SGFP SA (CGD Pensoes) is the pension fund management subsidiary of Caixa Gestao de Activos SGPS SA, itself a subsidiary of Caixa Geral de Depósitos SA in Portugal. The firm was founded in 1992 as Sociedade Gestora do Fundo de Pensões da Caixa Geral de Depósitos to manage the Caixa Geral de Depósitos pension fund. In 1994 they changed their name to Sociedade Gestora de Fundos de Pensões da Caixa Geral de Depósitos, SA. In 1996, they began to manage pension funds outside the CGD Group. In 2001, following the asset management restructuring at CGD, they changed their name to CGD Pensoes Sociedade Gestora de Fundos de Pensões SA. Based in Lisbon, CGD Pension offers individual and institutional clients the opportunity to finance retirement through open-ended or closed-ended pension funds.
