Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cortese served as managing director of Sterne Agee's municipal syndicate department.
He was also a managing director for national municipal underwriting at UBS Securities.
Mr. Cortese's underwriting expertise spans all sectors of municipal finance and he has underwritten over $35 billion of tax exempt bonds as a senior manager.
Prior to UBS, Mr. Cortese was the manager for the national syndicate department at Kemper Securities, where he built the firm's municipal underwriting and distribution platform.
Mr. Cortese holds a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Oswego and Series 7 and 63 licenses.
He is also a member of the Municipal Bond Club of New York.
