Prior to joining AlpInvest Partners, Mr. Robin founded and headed Credit Suisse First Boston's Private Funds Group.
There, he oversaw the firm's launch into third-party fund-of-funds capital management.
He and his team of professionals oversaw approximately $2 billion of commitments.
They were also responsible for making commitments to nearly 50 private equity funds - primarily buy-out and venture capital partnerships located in the U.S.
and Europe.
Mr. Robin also spent 7 years at the John D.
and Catherine T.
MacArthur Foundation, where he was the Director of Private Investments.
He also served as the Chairman of the Institutional Limited Partners Association ("ILPA"), an organization consisting of the largest U.S.
institutional investors in private equity limited partnerships.
Prior to joining the MacArthur Foundation, Mr. Robin was an associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co.
He holds a B.Sc.
from Northwestern University and an M.M.
from the J.L.
Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern University), where he was named an F.C.
Austin Scholar.
