During the Korean War, Mr. Estin served as a U.S.
Air Force pilot.
Beginning in 1956, Mr. Estin was principally engaged in managing investments in a private family office.
In 1974 that office merged into North American Management, where he became Vice Chairman.
He serves as a trustee of the Putnam Group of Mutual Funds, and he is a member of the Corporation of the Schepens Eye Research Institute, as well as a trustee of the New England Aquarium.
He is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Boys'and Girls' Clubs of Boston, and he was formerly chairman of the Board of Trustees of Boston University.
For many years, he served as Honorary Consul of Belgium in Boston.
Mr. Estin is a 1949 graduate of Harvard College where he received an AB degree in economics.
