Overlay Asset Management SA (OAM) was formerly the wholly-owned asset management subsidiary of BNP Paribas Investment Partners SA, itself a subsidiary of BNP Paribas SA (XP: BNP) in France. They were acquired by Swiss-based Optim Invest SA when BNP exited currency overlay services. Established in Geneva in 1998 by Hélie d'Hautefort, OAM is a currency management specialist which provides a full range of currency management solutions and services to institutional investors. Headquartered in Paris, the firm has a branch in London and local client service offices in Hong Kong and Milan. They offer clients a business model with the benefits of an independent, boutique investment manager specializing in currency management, while leveraging the scale, global reach, credibility and strong balance sheet of their parent company. OAM performs independent quantitative research and utilizes proprietary investment models and in-house portfolio management systems specifically designed for currency management.
