Profile

Prior to joining Moelis, Mr. Shaia gained several years of investment banking and private equity experience, most recently as a Senior Managing Director and the Head of Retail and Apparel Investment Banking at Bear Stearns.
While at Bear Stearns, Mr. Shaia built a leading franchise advising retail and apparel companies on a wide variety of corporate finance transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, public and private equity and debt financings and financial restructurings.
Prior to joining Bear Stearns in 2004, Mr. Shaia was a Managing Director and ran Soft-Lines and Broad-Lines Retail and Apparel Investment Banking at Citigroup and before that was a Principal in the Consumer and Retail Investment Banking Group at Deutsche Banc Alex Brown.

in Literature from Georgetown University and an M.B.A.
