Prior to his joining NYLIM in 2006, Mr. Shively was managing director and deputy general counsel with Legg Mason/Citigroup Asset Management North America, where he served as head of the Investment Advisory Legal Team and as lead lawyer for the Investment Advisory Business of CAM North America.
Previously, he served as head of the Investment Advisory Legal Team and lead lawyer for Global Institutional Asset Management and Retail & High Net Worth Managed Account business at Citigroup Asset Management.
Prior to joining Citigroup, he was assistant general counsel at Prudential Insurance Company, and was an associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy.
Mr. Shively received a B.A.
in Political Science from Middlebury College in Vermont, where he graduated cum laude and was recognized with the Jarrett Award for Excellence in Law and American Politics.
He also holds a J.D.
from New York University School of Law.
He is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
