Frances McGinnity

Dr. Frances McGinnity is an Associate Research Professor at The Economic & Social Research Institute.
She is a joint coordinator of the research areas such as Social Inclusion & Equality and Migration, Integration & Demography.
She joined the firm in 2004.
Dr. McGinnity previously worked at Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, Germany.
Most of her research to date has examined labor market inequality, often from a comparative perspective.
She was co-coordinator of a major research programed on Equality and Discrimination, funded by the Equality Authority, and continues to coordinate research in the area.
Dr McGinnity has also been working in the area of work-life balance, both within Ireland, and in the EU.
She also headed a team which conducted the first large-scale survey of migrants in Ireland and led the first field experiment on discrimination in recruitment in Ireland.
She received her doctorate degree from Nuffield College Oxford in 2001.
