Mr. Doug Phillips, CPA, is Vice President of Finance & Chief Financial Office at Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Co. Mr. Phillips is responsible for integrating MEM’s operational and functional plans to meet strategic goals.
He directs and oversees the company’s financial activities, as well as the actuarial, operational and statistical analysis functions for MEM.
Before his promotion to Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Phillips served MEM as Corporate Controller.
In that role, he provided oversight of the financial reporting, budgeting, general ledger and payroll functions.
Mr. Phillips began his career with MEM in 1996 as the General Accounting Manager.
While in that position, he was responsible for financial reporting, and the design and implementation of the company’s reporting and control structures.
Prior to his tenure with MEM, Phillips held various positions with SunTrust Banks and The Academy Insurance Group in Atlanta.
He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Georgia Southern College.
