Mr. Johnson has been Director of Carlson Ventures at the Carlson School of Management since its inception.
Doug spent ten years at IBM’s large mainframe division in engineering, sales and sales management.
He then worked for three years in investment banking with Dain Bosworth where he managed public offerings and private placements of both debt and equity primarily for technology-based companies.
Johnson then moved to Norwest Venture Capital, one of the oldest and most successful venture capital firms in the U.S.
As senior officer and general partner during his ten years with Norwest, he made investments in—and served on the boards of—approximately 25 early-stage, high technology companies.
Since leaving the institutional venture capital business in late 1990, Johnson has served as an active investor, director and officer of several early-stage and/or troubled companies.
Mr. Johnson holds an MBA and a degree in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota.
