David Stephens

David Stephens began his career in 1991 with Arthur Andersen in London where he trained as a Chartered Accountant before transferring into management consulting.
In 1996, he became Managing Director of Queen’s Ice Bowl, a company which grew into Leisure Box plc - a diversified leisure group of bars, restaurants and family entertainment centres which was then partially sold to MWB Group plc.
In 1999, David co-founded moonfruit.com, an online blogging and publishing community, which raised significant equity finance and is now part of an online media group.
In early 2002, he took an interim role as Flotation Finance director of Ringprop plc, which achieved an IPO on AIM.
From 2002 to 2006 David worked at WPP Group where he oversaw the group’s portfolio of minority interest stakes in a wide range of companies in different countries and sectors of the media and marketing services industry.
He joined IBIS Capital in May 2006 as Investment Director for the IBIS Media Venture Capital Trust.
