Originally from Germantown, Wisconsin, Brunner received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.
In 1997, she earned a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from Concordia University, Wisconsin and in December 2002 she received a Masters of Sports Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.
