Mr. Urban joined Bingham Osborn & Scarborough in 1995.
Before that, he had a 13-year career with both IBM and Texas Instruments in marketing and financial management.
Mr. Urban was named as one of Barrons’ Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors in America in 2008 and 2009.
He has been widely quoted in leading publications including The Wall Street Journal, the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News, SmartMoney and Money Magazine.
He served as technical editor for Personal Finance for Dummies (3rd, 4th and 6th editions) and Mutual Funds for Dummies (3rd edition), by Eric Tyson.
He has also been published in the trade publication Investment Advisor on the topic of ethical responsibilities of investment advisors.
In 2007, he was named one of the top 25 wealth advisors in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times.
Mr. Urban received a BA from Princeton University, an MS from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from Stanford University.
He holds both the Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.
He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco.
He lives in Portola Valley, where he serves on the Town of Portola Valley Finance Committee and is the former treasurer of the Community High School Foundation.
