Basil M. Al-Rahim

Basil Al Rahim is the founder of MerchantBridge with an extensive career in banking and private equity.
He was involved in private equity investments in the Middle East, Europe and the US.
He was previously CEO of Safron Partners, a MENA focused private equity fund which he founded in partnership with a number of large institutional investors.
Prior to that he was based in Washington D.C where he was Managing Director of the Carlyle Group and helped set-up their international business.
He was also responsible for starting and developing the merchant banking division of Riggs National Bank (now PNC Financial Services Group) in Washington D.C.
Mr. Rahim started work at Gulf International Bank and received his commercial banking training at Citibank and his investment banking training at Morgan Stanley and Brown Brothers Harriman in New York.
