Mr. Azmat Taufique joined Investcorp in 2007 as managing director and co-head of Gulf growth capital.
He came to Investcorp from the Middle East and North Africa Department of the International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group) where he was Senior Regional Manager responsible for investments in the region.
His 19-year career with IFC included 13 years based in Washington, D.C., followed by three years at IFC's East Asia regional hub in Hong Kong before moving to Dubai in 2004 to set up IFC's new regional hub for the MENA region.
During his career at IFC, he held a series of senior positions and led IFC's equity and debt financing in a variety of emerging market economies and spanning a number of sectors, including energy, mining, infrastructure, petrochemicals and manufacturing.
Azmat Taufique holds a BA (Hons) from Stephens College, India, and an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management in Manila, Philippines.
He attended the executive development program at Harvard Business School.
