Arif Gangat

Mr. Arif Gangat was previously employed as a Managing Director by Octavian Management LLC and a Managing Director by Southpaw Asset Management LP.
Prior to this, Mr. Gangat was a Managing Director at Sandell Asset Management, an event-driven hedge fund with approximately $5 billion in assets under management.
At Sandell, Mr. Gangat focused on credit-oriented investment opportunities, including distressed, high-yield and capital structure arbitrage.
In addition, Mr. Gangat co-managed a $50 million discretionary portfolio, with a focus on special situations.
Prior to joining Sandell in 2002, Mr. Gangat was a Research Analyst at Epsilon Investment Management, where he focused on capital structure arbitrage and distressed investments.
From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Gangat was a Research Analyst with New Frontier Capital, an investment management firm specializing in technology investing.
Prior to 1998, he was a Research Analyst at Metropolitan Capital Advisors, an investment management firm, where he focused on event-driven equity investing.
Mr. Gangat was a Financial Analyst with Jeffries & Company, Inc. from 1992 to 1994.
Mr. Gangat served as a director of Texas Petrochemicals, Inc., a Houston-based producer of commodity and specialty chemicals, from May 2004 to April 2006.
Mr. Gangat graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992, completing the dual-degree Management & Technology Program with B.S.
degrees in Computer Science, Engineering and Economics.
He received his MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School in 1996, graduating with distinction as a Palmer Scholar.
