Turbine Studios Ltd. is an independent film and British television production company founded in 2020 by Tracey Elizabeth Scoffield, David Gilbert Tanner, Justin Oliver Thomson, and Andrew Eaton. The private company is based in London, UK, and has subsidiaries in the United Kingdom. Turbine Studios has produced Munich, a film directed by Christian Schwochow and produced by Andrew Eaton, which tells the story of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's race against time to prevent a war as Adolf Hitler prepares to invade Munich in 1938. Turbine Studios has also created Small Axe, a collection of five films about the experiences of London's West Indian community from the 1960s through to the mid-80s, directed, co-written, and executive produced by Steve McQueen, with executive producers Tracey Scoffield and David Tanner. Small Axe was nominated for a record number of 15 BAFTAs, and two of the films, Mangrove and Lovers Rock, were in the official competition selection for Cannes 2020.
