Amit De

Amit De is Senior Vice President responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing investment opportunities for MM Venture Partners.
Amit has over 10 years of experience in the investment and technology sectors and has been involved with leading private and public companies in Canada and Internationally.
Amit is actively involved with many of MM Venture Partner's portfolio companies, including Innovance Networks, ViXS, Maptuit, Webhelp, Executive Manufacturing Technologies and Amphitech.
Before joining MM Venture Partners, Amit was a Partner and co-founder of an Information Technology and Management consultancy based in India and the UK.
Prior to this, Amit spent over 5 years in London completing his MBA program and then joining Barclays de Zoete Wedd Ltd.
("BZW") immediately thereafter.
At BZW, Amit was part of both the origination and execution sides of the Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions Department.
While in origination, Amit was responsible for relationships with leading UK and European companies such as Marconi, Alcatel, BSkyB, British Telecom and British Aerospace.
Additionally, he was involved in bringing about the $600 million IPO of Pace Micro Technology, one of BZW's most successful and lucrative IPO's at the time.
Within execution, Amit was involved in several transactions, including the $1.1 billion merger of Bardon Group and the $1.7 billion sale of one of British Steel's divisions.
Amit is an active member of the Canadian venture community and has been a member of the selection committee of the Toronto Venture Fair since 2001.
Amit has an Honors degree in Electrical Engineering and completed his MBA from Cass Business School in the UK.
