China Science & Merchants Investment Management Group Co. Ltd. (CSM-IMG) is a Chinese venture capital firm headquartered in Shenzhen, as well as representation in Shanghai and Singapore. CSM-VCM was established in 2000. CSM-IMG was founded jointly by the China Academy of Sciences and CMG-China Merchants Group, for which the lead entity is China Merchants Holdings (HK: 144). Investors include local authorities, large corporations and institutions such as banks, pension funds and insurance companies. The firm has a strategic alliance with the local authorities in the Xi'an area in the Shaanxi province in central China. The goal is to boost technology development in the area through venture capital investing. CSM-IMG also has a partnership with business leaders in Wenzhou to manage the Wenzhou Zhongke Fuquan venture capital portfolio.
