Stephanie Leaist

Ms. Stephanie Leaist is a Managing Director at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Private Investments and a Managing Director & Head of Sustainable Investing at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
She oversees all of CPPIB’s sustainable investing activities, including direct and collaborative engagements, proxy voting and the integration of environmental, social and governance factors across all of CPPIB’s investment activities.
In a prior role at CPPIB from 2002 to 2012, she was a Senior Principal in the Private Investments department.
In that role, Stephanie was instrumental in building CPPIB’s private equity funds portfolio, developing its global private equity funds strategy and participating on numerous fund Advisory Boards.
Prior to joining CPPIB in 2002, she was principal of Ludwick & Leaist Inc., a corporate consulting firm.
She also practised corporate/commercial and securities law with McCarthy Tétrault, She earned her Chartered Accountant designation with Coopers & Lybrand.
She holds her Bachelor of Commerce and Law degrees from the University of Toronto.
