Silvia Rocha-Akis

Dr. Silvia Rocha-Akis is a Senior Economist at Österreichisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung.
She has been working in the Research Group "Labour market, Income, and Social Security" since 2012.
Her research and work focus on income distribution and redistribution, tax and transfer systems, the welfare state, distribution, and revenue effects of economic policy measures, and the development of microsimulation models.
She worked in the Economic Analysis Division of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank and as a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute for Labor Economics at the WU, Vienna.
After her studies at the Department of Economics of the University of Vienna (Magister), she received her doctorate in the special research area "International Tax Coordination" (FWF) at the Institute for Foreign Trade and Development of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna).
