Dr. Nils joined OCG in October 2000.
He has held various positions at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from March 1993 to August 1995 and from June 1997 to present.
He currently serves as Leader, Science & Technology Project in its International Assessments Division.
From August 1995 to May 1997, Dr. Carlson was a product manager at SDL Inc. Dr. Carlson served as a member of the technical staff in the Optoelectronics Laboratory of the David Sarnoff Research Center (formerly RCA Labs) from September 1984 to February 1993.
He was also previously a research associate in the Division of Applied Sciences & Physics Department at Harvard University and a visiting scientist at the Regional Laser Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Carlson earned a B.A. in Physics from Johns Hopkins University and an M.S.
and a Ph.D.
in Physics from Stanford University.
