Emisys Capital is an active manager which invests in mid-size Italian companies across sectors and selectively in other European countries. They do not invest in start-up or turnaround situations. The firm seeks to invest EUR 4-20 million as sole investor in companies with sales ranging between EUR 50-500 million and the ability to generate stable and foreseeable cash flows. For larger transactions they invest in syndication with other private equity partners. Emisys Capital provides mezzanine financing mainly through private equity investments, participating in leveraged buy-out transactions, supporting external growth of companies already controlled by private equity funds and contributing to recapitalizations of previous buy-outs. The firm also considers investments where mezzanine financing is used as a substitute for private equity, working alongside investee companies to support expansion programs or restructuring ownership through the exit of one or more shareholders.
