Alstom, together with its partners Electra and Minrav, has signed a contract with Trans Israel for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a light rail system between Haifa and Nazareth.

Called 'NofiT', the project is valued at 1 billion euros. Alstom's share is valued at over 700 million euros, including the maintenance contract worth around 140 million euros.

Specifically, Alstom will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, integration, testing and commissioning of the light rail system, including track, electrification, energy-saving power supply, signalling, communication system, depot equipment, as well as the supply and maintenance of 54 Citadis streetcars.

Electra and Minrav will manage the civil engineering works, from design to construction. Operation and maintenance will be handled by a joint venture comprising Electra Afikim, Minrav and Alstom.
