Technip Energies has announced that it has been awarded a "major" contract (between €250m and €500m in revenue it says) for preliminary work on a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) unit in Africa.

The contract will remain in effect until 30 September 2023, with the understanding that it only covers preliminary activities and that an additional order should be recorded when the contract is fully awarded.

Technip Energies notes that it has already delivered three offshore FLNG units worldwide, with a total capacity of 8.2 million tons per year, namely PFLNG SATU in Malaysia, Prelude FLNG in Australia, and Coral Sul FLNG in Mozambique.
