KOBLENZ (dpa-AFX) - The intelligent door drives from automotive supplier Stabilus are in demand in China. A major order for the delivery of more than 400,000 door drive systems per year starting in 2026 was recently received from a Chinese car manufacturer, the SDax company announced in Koblenz on Tuesday. No financial details were disclosed. After the boron turbulence of the past few days, the share price rose by more than 7 per cent on Tuesday in a stabilized market.
According to Stabilus, the electromechanical door drive systems are necessary for autonomous cars and robo-taxis and are also increasingly in demand in the premium segment. Stabilus estimates that demand for door actuators will quintuple from the current 1 million units by 2029.
According to JPMorgan analyst Akshat Kacker, the order strengthens Stabilus' market-leading position in the growing segment of electromechanical door drives. He noted that Stabilus not only sells gearboxes and electric motors for the doors, but also the required software, which was developed in cooperation with Synapticon. According to Kacker, the price of the installed content averages between 20 and 120 euros./lew/nas/stk
