Safran Electronics & Defense has announced that it is strengthening its production of satellite propulsion systems in the USA to meet growing demand from the commercial and military sectors.
This strategic initiative will support the projected growth of the North American small satellite market, which is expected to reach more than $5 billion by 2030.
Safran specifies that the EPSX00 'Made-in-the-USA' system will be manufactured by Safran Electronics & Defense via its US subsidiary, with first delivery in the first quarter of 2026.
By establishing a new production facility in Colorado, Safran reaffirms its position as a trusted provider of turnkey satellite propulsion solutions for the U.S. and global markets.
''By targeting global demand for electric propulsion in small satellites, we will meet the challenge of increasingly stringent international regulations on sustainability and resilience worldwide,'' commented Jean-Marie Bétermier, head of Safran Electronics & Defense's Global Business Unit Space.
