Orange has announced that it is appealing the seizure of 312 million euros on October 7 by the French National Financial Prosecutor's Office (Parquet national financier - PNF) in connection with a dispute over VAT rates applied to certain promotional offers between 2017 and 2019.
The corresponding sums have been deposited with the Caisse des dépôts et consignations and remain unavailable to Orange for the duration of the proceedings. This seizure does not call into question the telecoms operator's financial guidelines.
While 'firmly contesting the reassessments and the heads of offence of which it is accused', Orange affirms that it is collaborating in complete transparency with the PNF to determine the documentary scope of the investigations.
